We host an electronic mailing list, JamesRiverSTC, for technical communicators to exchange information about the varied fields within our profession and to receive notifications of chapter events. All are welcome to participate on this list. Click the link to join the list.
Subscribing to the List
- In your browser, navigate to the home page for the JamesRiverSTC mailing list.
- Enter your e-mail address and your name.

Note: You don’t have to enter your name.
- Enter your choice of a password; reenter it in the password confirmation field.

- If you’d like to receive a daily digest of messages on the list instead of receiving them individually, click Yes for digests.
- Click Submit.
You’ll receive an e-mail confirming your new account.
Your Account Administration
You can change these options for your account:
- Your e-mail address
- Your password
- Receive posts in e-mail
- Receive list digests
- Get Digests in MIME or ASCII text format
- Receive your own posts to the list
- Get password reminder
- Conceal yourself from the subscriber list
- Avoid duplicate copies of messages
Change Your Options
- Go to the home page for JamesRiverSTC.
- Go to the bottom of the page and enter your e-mail address.

- Click Unsubscribe or Edit Options.
Note: Your browser will be re-directed to the User Admin logon page.
- Enter your password.
- Click Log in.
- Change your options as you need.
- Click Submit My Changes at the bottom of the page.
- Click the Log out button at the top of the page.
About the List
JamesRiverSTC is a moderated list. We expect that subscribers will treat each other with common sense and courtesy. We do not allow:
- Flames or flame wars
- Pornography
- Profanity
- Spam of any kind
- Product or service advertisements
- Job postings

Participation
“Member” and “membership,” in the context of our mailing list, refer to registered list members or list membership through registration.
- This mailing list will not accept postings from non-members.
- Chapter members at the time this list was begun were automatically registered.
- Non-chapter members are welcome to register for and use our mailing list.
