Internet Committee
The Internet (or, more specifically, the World Wide Web) is extremely important to our chapter and communities. We support members from Fredericksburg south to North Carolina and from the Atlantic to the western mountains of the Commonwealth. If we’re to do anything consistently and well, we must do it online.
The Internet Committee:
- Maintains the backend databases that serve the chapter Web site
- Maintains the e-mail list for our ConstantContact® account
- Maintains Chapter and individual e-mail accounts through our Web Host account
- Maintains the structure and content of each page of the Chapter Web site
- Recommends new technologies and strategies to the administrative council
- Ensures the Chapter Web site is “friendly” to search engine bots and spiders
- Ensures compliance of the Chapter Web site with W3C standards for XHTML and CSS
- Ensures compliance of the Chapter Web site with Sectino 508 standards for the accessibilty of Electronic Information & Technologies
Note: The chair of this committee also serves as the chapter Webmaster.
