Michelle Pritchett graduated from Radford University in December 2005, where she earned her B.A. in English with a concentration in Technical and Business Writing. She served as the head copy editor of the school’s Internet magazine, Whim, for a year before graduation.
During school breaks and after graduation, Michelle worked at a local Starbucks to get her insatiable caffeine fix for free and bide her time until she officially entered “the real world.” At Starbucks, she met some amazing people, learned how to make the world’s best milk foam, and found out about the company for which she currently works from a regular customer.
Michelle works for a local marketing firm that specializes in marketing higher education for some of the country's most prestigious colleges and universities. She works in the quality assurance department testing functionality of electronic projects and proofing copy.
On the weekends, you can find Michelle playing tennis, cycling, or climbing Old Rag Mountain. She also likes to try new recipes, read cheesy chick-lit, drink good wine, and do crossword puzzles (though she’s still struggling with the big book of Monday NY Times puzzles).
Michelle found out about STC through a technical communication professor, STC member Don Samson, and joined as a student member in 2004. She’s looking forward to meeting more people in the organization, learning more about technical communication, and being an active member of the James River Chapter. |
