Although our membership levels have dropped significantly in the previous year,
your current Chapter officers have continued to work hard on your behalf, but it has come time to elect new officers! Please consider volunteering
your time on behalf of the Society at large and on the behalf of your regional chapter by becoming an officer. Contact president@stc-jamesriver.org if you are interested!
Please note that this is NOT a casual recruitment request. Put simply, your chapter will NOT be able to continue if we do not find enough people to
fill the officer roles required by our local and national By-laws.
Virginia has recognized the value technical communicators and members of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) provide to business, industry, and government in the Commonwealth. In 2004 and 2005, the Governor issued a proclamation dedicating a week in January as Technical Communication Week to acknowledge our contributions.
Our Chapter draws members from throughout the center of the Commonwealth; from the upper and middle Shenandoah Valley to the Blue Ridge to the Piedmont to Tidewater. Our members are employees and independent contractors or consultants.
